Robert Light’s initial spell as Chair of the Consumer Council for Water (CCW) has been extended by 18 months, along with two other Board members.

The extension of Mr Light’s first term – along with those of independent board members Alison Austin and Robert Wilson – has been confirmed by the Environment Secretary George Eustice.

Mr Light was first appointed as Chair of the independent voice of water consumers in June 2019 and his current tenure will stretch until 5 December 2023. Ms Austin and Mr Wilson – who were both initially appointed in 2018 – have seen their first terms extended to the end of December 2023.

The changes have been made in accordance with the Ministerial Governance Code on Public Appointments.
