Man drinking water in kitchen

CCW commissioned Water Research Centre to review water industry and company models considering their ownership, financing, and governance in the UK. This is in response to the public’s decreasing trust and calls for transparency on issues that matter to them, such as environmental protection and investment.

The project considered a broad range of literature and was informed by stakeholder interviews. It assessed ownership and service delivery options and identified opportunities for water companies to deliver a more affordable, fair, resilient, and transparent service for the public and the environment.

We will be using this report as a basis for further work on the feasibility of alternative models.
