Join debate on the future of region’s water resources

WATER resources across London and the South East are under growing pressure – so what action is needed to keep the taps running for future generations?

That’s the question that will be posed to water industry experts at a special event being hosted in London on Friday (April 22) by the independent water watchdog the Consumer Council for Water.

Consumers are being invited to join a ‘Question Time’ style debate on what can be done to ensure supply meets demand across the most water-scarce region of the UK.

Sir Tony Redmond, Chair of CCWater’s London and South East Committee, said: “Water companies do a good job of keeping our taps running. But changing weather patterns and a growing population are intensifying the pressure on our water supplies.”

“The action we take now will be critical in securing tap water for future generations and all of us have a vital role to play.”

Water companies from across London and the South East will be discussing the challenges they face managing water resources over the next two decades and beyond.
