CCW is proud to protect the interests of water consumers in England and in Wales. We are a small organisation, but a high-impact one, and work with governments, water companies and regulators to resolve customer detriment. We are delighted with what we have accomplished so far: since we were established in 2005, we have helped thousands of consumers resolve complaints against their water company or retailer. All our work is informed by extensive research, which we use to champion the interests of consumers and influence water companies, governments and regulators. 2023-24 has been a year of achievements and collaboration in which we have forged strong partnerships to tackle some of the most pressing issues affecting consumers.

CCW is seeking to identify an exceptional individual at an exciting time across the water industry, change is occurring and CCW needs to deliver what tomorrow’s customers require. As a member of the Board and an Accounting Officer, the Chief Executive will spearhead the development of CCW’s business strategy and ensure the efficient and effective delivery of our duties. They will also create a compelling vision of success and promote this to all our stakeholders, leading our efforts to develop CCW as an independent, effective, modern consumer representation body that is fit for the future. A key ambassador for the organisation, the Chief Executive will develop excellent relationships across a broad stakeholder community which includes governments in England and Wales, regulators, industry, academia and the consumer interest and protection sectors.

We are looking for a proven senior leader, an entrepreneurial and innovative individual who can demonstrate a track record devising and delivering strategy for complex organisations. Analytical and intellectually rigorous, you will have designed transformational and structural change, and are confident in securing finance and working with complex funding models. You have the confidence and impact to represent our organisation with stakeholders at the highest levels, ensuring CCW has a respected voice in sector debate. Experience in the water industry would be useful, as would a track record in regulation, utilities and the consumer sector as well as the wider public sector. Applications from those who are already a Chief Executive are welcome, but we also welcome interest from people with the potential to take the next step in their careers.
